Clueless Bob

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5846

"Passing By" wrote on columbuzz:
"You obviously don't have an attorney."

Bob's reply:
"Why would you say that? Because I haven't clammed up and kept my opinions to myself? Because a few legal moves by someone I am critical of haven't scared me silent? I meant what I have said; each and every word. I was sending them a message. READ what I wrote. The reasons will be obvious soon enough. These people will live to regret this attack on me and my right of freedom of speech and opinion."

Freedom of speech does not include libel, Bob.  Accusing someone of committing a crime without evidence sounds like libel to me.

"I want them to know that this action will probably only help speed up the removal of Fred Barkes from office."

Probably just wishful thinking, Bob.

They have a choice. Proceed and see the results or drop this nonsense and be adults, and accept criticism. Bringing facts out should make you proud instead of make you hide and fight with attorneys.

If it's libel, it's not facts.

"They think they will win. I think I will have evidence that will make them wish they hadn't started this BS."

You think you WILL have evidence?  You don't already have the evidence?  You better hurry.

"And by the way, your statement here. Is that an assumption on your part? Do you have proof that I don't have an attorney? How does it feel to have your freedom of speech questioned? Could your statement be libelous?"

In my opinion, more proof that Bob does not understand the definition of libel.

The delusional Bob "thinks" he has evidence. He has been telling us for a very, very long time that he HAS evidence of criminal wrongdoing. We are at the PUT UP or SHUT UP point, Bob! Close your hole and pony up with your evidence OR close up shop and pay up...BIG TIME.

As you are fond of saying "the ball is in YOUR COURT big boy...it's time to play!"

Actually, the ball is in the court of the Barkes and Ferrenberg families. They have to prove that Bob has done something wrong. He doesn't have to prove he's innocent. This is America. I don't agree with Bob's personal attacks, but I do believe in the freedom of speech. This lawsuit is a waste of time and money. It will go nowhere.

So are you saying it's OK for someone to accuse someone else of a crime they didn't commit?

The proceedings of this law suit may not be comparable to any other of the same type of law suit.
Bob isn't your run-of-the-mill citizen.
He has already shown contempt, and has mocked the opposition in the face of legal scrutiny and possible punitive accountability.
Most judges have great disdain for those with such 'character'.
The law is the law, but the judge often makes calls that determine how the last act of the show plays out.

If his behavior in the courtroom reflects his behavior as we know it...he could be in trouble.

If he acts civil, I think it will be difficult for the plaintiffs to win their case, but it will be FAR FROM a "waste of time".

This action has already shown that you can't just go around wagging your tongue about anything, and everything under the sun when it is a focused personal attack on the character and reputation of a public figure and his family and associates.
Ha! ESPECIALLY when they are city or county employees. Hello?
You'd better check yourself before you wreck yourself.

The Barkes' and Ferrenburg's legal action against Bob Freeman may prevent that boob from being so vicious, vulgar, malefic, barbarous, insulting and slanderous to his next random target.

If the plaintiffs fail to win, IT WILL NOT BE A VICTORY FOR BOB, but I'm sure he will treat it, flaunt it, and wear it out, as such.

*********************************************

Bob would benefit himself, and others, if he directed his energy and time towards an endeavor that is remote from, and independent of, social interaction and public display.

Know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em.

It takes an intelligent, and humble person to recognize and avoid their follies, and discover and embrace their virtues.

This is the PERFECT opportunity for Bob to stray from his beaten path, and finally choose the fork in the road.
He might like where it takes him.

...and if it takes him away from people, the world will be a better place.

I agree with Merc. Attorney's do not file lawsuits they cannot win. This is not about teaching Bob a lesson this is about SUING BOB and being awarded damages. The reputations of these people has been damaged because of Bob Freeman.

It is wishful thinking our the thought of some "hired" lawyer for Bob that the suit is without merit or not winnable. Attorneys will say this all the time but at the end of the day, the COURT WILL DECIDE!

There are those who hope and pray Bob goes down and goes down hard, there is another minority who is rooting for Bob, regardless, the stress, agony and aggravation of a lawsuit HAS HAPPENED and will play out. Bob will finally get his day in court and a chance to provide all of the evidence he has promised. Bob is about to get a lesson in heresay, libel, innuendo and rumor and my prediction is Bob will lose and damages will be awarded.

This is a slam dunk, the proof is in the words that have been published and it is between Bob, the Barkes' and the Ferrenburgs. It's not about all of the other malicious things Bob has said, it is limited in scope and can easily be proven.

Don't lose sight of what this suit is about and what it is NOT about. It is about Columbuzz AS IT PERTAINS to Bob Freeman and the plaintiffs and NOTHING ELSE.

Bob...you probably remember a 70's song with the lyrics "I like dreamin....."
