Huh? - UPDATED

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5786

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"Things we know or witness should help us decide our own vote but we don't want to start exchanging accusations. It isn't healthy and there isn't time to recover from a mistaken impression someone might have from hearsay. The primary is 2 months away. Let's stick to the issues and not start analyzing others statements. Please."

Bob is lecturing others on hearsay and exchanging accusations?

"And this is a place (columbuzz) for people to freely voice their opinions."

Bob, I think you meant to write "certain people", not people in general.

Bob vs Bob 14.0

Bob #1:
"I DO stand up for truth."

Bob #2:

Crooked Bob

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5792

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"A few of my critics say I am wrong to use the words 'crook' and 'rob.' They say he hasn't been arrested for anything, or convicted. And I haven't shown proof that he broke any laws. I haven't, yet."

If you claim he has committed multiple crimes, which you have done repeatedly, then you better have proof.  If you don't, then good luck in court.  You'll need it.  Your only hope at this point is if the Trustee decides that you're not worth the time it would take to sue.

"A person can be crooked without being convicted of breaking the law, in my opinion."

Like someone who advertises an odometer tampering device for sale?

"Playing games with public money, even if done legally, is crooked, in my opinion. Being crooked makes you a crook, in my opinion."

Advertising an odometer tampering device is crooked, in my opinion.

"We have seen that the trustee has used the wrong funds to pay for stuff. The State Board of Accounts confirms that. Even if that isn't illegal, it's crooked, in my opinion; if it was done intentionally."

But you have claimed it's illegal.  Like I said, good luck in court.

"As far as 'rob' goes, as in 'he has robbed us for years,' I explained that the other day. I believe the service that our current trustee has provided us the past 8 years has robbed us of the proper services we expect and pay for."

In my opinion, Bob is lying AGAIN!  I believe he accused the Trustee of theft with this statement.

Bob Can't Shut Up

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5641

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"Someone doesn't like what I write about them. They say it's lies, and I know what I write is true."

Most of it is lies, Bob.  I see you're still delusional.

"I couldn't care less. I know it won't shut me up."

I don't think anything could shut you up, Bob, not even bankruptcy or jail.

"And as far as the Bob-o-bots, I know Phil Swain stopped posting here and asked me not to post anything from his e-mails anymore. So what? He switches alliances about as often as I would imagine you change underwear. Phil wants to go where he can have people who like him. If he has something I want to post on Columbuzz, I will simply post a link to it. But he doesn't usually have anything to say that is that important to post."

Ha!  Now even Bob refers to his minions as Bob-o-bots!  Gee Bob, you sure posted a lot of Phil's stuff before he asked you to stop.   Now all of a sudden you think his stuff is unimportant?  What changed?

"That's his choice. He will be at the other website until those nitwits turn on him again."

No Bob, I believe you're the one who turns on people.  Chris Rutan?  Phil Swaim?  I'm sure there are many others.

Web Pages Bob Needs To Read

The following web page explains "libel per se".

Libel And Slander

The following web page addresses assertions of fact dressed up as opinions. I believe Bob does this all the time, so his claim that his opinions can't be considered libel is suspect. I think it also calls into question his claim that "asking questions is not libelous".

Online Defamation Law

Bob's Delusional World - UPDATED

Columbuzz.net Works! We Help Solve Problems.

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"Some are saying that we had nothing to do with the trustee republishing his report."

Gee, Bob, I thought you weren't reading my blog anymore.

"It is said that he was told by The Republic that the file size was different than last year. So, The Republic telling him his file was too small is why he knew he screwed up posting a complete report? I don't think so. I think he thought nobody would notice."

Hey Bob, I have an idea. Why not do some actual investigation, if you're able, and ask The Republic.  But we all know that's not your style.  You would rather just make up your own story.

"It doesn't matter. The point is, he published it wrong the first time and 20 days later he had to post it again. How smart do you need to be to publish a complete financial report correctly the first time? Apparently smarter than the crew at the trustees office."

If it doesn't matter, then why mention it?  And you should be the last person to question someone's intelligence.  Your severe lack of intelligence has been thoroughly documented on this blog.

Lucy wrote in response to Bob:
"Well accidents do happen...like Ms Brown accidentally got her files mixed up with the ones Ms. Sullivan had....and took the wrongs ones by mistake....."

Watch out Lucy! That's not the Bob party line.

Bob is Digging His Hole Deeper

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5790

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
' “And I will not leave Barkes alone. He is a crook and he is going to be scrutinized even more from here on out.” '
"True words. I think Fred Barkes is a crook. I think he manipulates money to benefit his fire department. I think he wrongly uses money from one fund for the purposes of another fund, and I intend to prove what a crook I think he is. What is your definition of a crook? "

Bob, it doesn't matter what you think.  If you accuse someone of criminal behavior, then you better be able to prove your accusations.   If you can't, it could be considered libel.

' “Fred Barkes has robbed us for 8 years. He now gets to rob us for 4 more.” '
"Again, this is my opinion. I think he has robbed us overall from having a decent Trustee’s office because of his mistreatment of clients, his mismanagement of funds, and his unusually close relationship with the fire chief. So again I say, Fred Barkes has robbed us for 8 years. He now gets to rob us for 4 more.."

I believe Bob is attempting to backtrack here.  I think that when he made this statement, he was accusing Fred Barkes of criminal behavior.

' “He can’t resist giving himself and his wife outlandish raises, regardless of what the economy is doing or regardless of how far in debt his office budget is. As long as he gets what he wants.” '
"I posted his and her pay for the eight years they have been in office. Most people don’t get raises like that over a 20 year period."

This issue has been covered on my blog.  Bob is not telling the truth when he says most people don't get raises like that over a 20 year period.  Maybe he hasn't, but on average, the rest of us have.

"In the meantime, you should learn to read what is actually written. Then you’ll know what is an opinion, what is a fact, and what is a question"

Bob, we do read what is written, and you try to pass your opinions off as fact all the time.

"They also included stuff posted on the website that the troublemakers started to tear down what I say here. Some of what they say I posted, I did not post. Some I did, but some I didn’t. Most of what is attributed to me is copied and pasted from this site anyway. I’m not even going to address that nasty website here."

I would like to see the list of the comments from my blog that Bob claims are not his.  Is he afraid to post them?  He better be careful claiming they're not his.   I'm sure he doesn't want to be charged with perjury.

"If she did what people have accused her of, and several have confirmed the reports, she should have had to pick herself up off the floor before she left. I can guarantee you that if someone did what Sandra Barkes is accused of doing at a Freeman funeral showing, they would bounce off the floor as they went out the door."

Bob is advocating violence again.  Big surprise.

"I didn't say a lot of what they say I said. A lot of people like to use my name when they stir at the other website. But I usually sign what I say and I won't deny what I said. I have no reason to."

Bob, you do not usually sign what you say here. When you have something nasty to say, which is most of the time, you submit your comment anonymously, but I know the comment came from columbuzz.

Bob is Wrong Again

Columbuzz.net Works! We Help Solve Problems.

Bob is taking credit for something he had nothing to do with.  Here's what really happened with the Columbus Township Trustee's annual financial report that was published in The Republic on Feb. 4 from the Trustee himself:

"Bob really tries to seize a moment.  Even before his posting, the Republic sent me an e-mail informing of the difference in the size of the 2010 file vs. 2009.  I recreated the 2010 file, sent it to the Republic and was awaiting the reprint when Bob made his posting.  The bottom line is that (he) can’t take credit for any of it."

Bob Needs No Proof

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5785

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"I appreciate it Phil. We try to delete all that stuff. We delete quite a bit but most of that is idiots calling me names and saying outrageous nonsense."

Bob is lying again!  I have offered numerous times to provide Bob a list of libelous statements made against Fred Barkes on columbuzz.

"It's no my website. I am very involved but it belongs to other people."

My translation: If columbuzz is ever sued for libel, I'm going to claim that it's not my website and throw Jeremy under the bus.

"Asking questions is not libelous. Voicing opinions of elected officials and staff is not libelous. Stating facts without proof is not libelous. That proof might need to be shown in court, but it isn'tlibelous until it is stated as true and proven to be untrue."

How does Bob know they are facts without proof?  You know what is libelous Bob?  Claiming someone is a criminal without proof.

"And if you notice, I always say that I was told something. THAT part is true. Whether what they told me is true or not is a different matter."

Which proves that Bob is not at all interested in the truth, in my opinion.

Phil Swaim countered with:
"Stating facts without proof is most of the time libel. Sure, you can show the evidence in court, but why not now? It also hurts credibility."

Bob responds:
"Like I said, read what I write and you will see what I mean."

My translation:   I'm Bob Freeman!   I don't need proof!

Bob again:
"But I won't change how I do things because I have always stated facts as facts and suspicions as suspicions."

Another untrue statement from Bob.

"Unless I say otherwise, I mean each and every word I say. If he is doing something he shouldn't do, he better be sure I don't find out about it."

You mean something like odometer fraud?

I Think Bob Wants a Medal

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5788

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"Columbuzz.net Works! We Help Solve Problems."

Every once in a while, but I think they create more problems than they solve.

"People reported a problem. We annonced that problem here on Columbuzz.net. The financial report was published again and hopefully it is correct this time. This shows that reporting facts to the people that are involved gets things done and problems solved. People reported this to us without anyone nowing who they are. We posted it here only, and the right people saw the problem and made the corrections."

Bob still doesn't get it.  It's how he attempts to solve problems.  Did he try to solve the problem privately or did he grandstand on columbuzz?  Let's examine how Bob attempted to solve the problem of what appears to be a simple mistake:

"Columbus Township Trustee Fred Barkes, once again, turned in an annual report that was incomplete, misleading, and flatout wrong."

"If it matches the one in paper, he filed a false and incomplete report. If it doesn't match and includes more information that what was posted in the paper, he is still wrong for posting a partial report."

"Fred Barkes is not doing his job properly. Fred Barkes needs to be held accountable for not doing the job he has been elected to do."

"He hasn't passed a SBOA audit without issues since he has been in office. Apparently, they accept his nonsense and expect his incompetence, because they never do anything to stop it."

"Fred Barkes is either too stupid to follow those rules or he thinks he doesn't need to follow those rules."

"It's time that we file formal complaints with the state and maybe even with the local prosecutor."

"Enough is enough!"

"If he can't do the job as he is supposed to do the job, let's get him out and get someone in there that can and will do the job right."

Bob the Weasel

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5785

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"I stand by, and I can prove, EVERY single word that I have written as fact about these four."

Lie.  Please cite the laws that you claim Fred Barkes has broken.

"And, if need be, I will prove them, in a court of law. A majority of what you sent to me is from a website set up to tear apart what I say on Columbuzz.net. A great majority of what it says is in fact libelous toward myself. But of course they hide behind phony names."

What exactly is libelous against Bob here?  I've deleted the obvious ones and have offered many times to consider deleting any others that I've missed.

"What you have presented to me as evidence of ‘libel’ is a collection of my opinions, facts backed up with evidence and witnesses willing to testify to those facts, questions that I have set out for people in our community, and a whole bunch of crap from a website that allows people to make posts while falsely using my name."

So Bob, none of the posts here with your name are yours?

So, Mr. Lantz, if you wish to sort through to see what part is my opinion, what parts are actual accusations or supposed false statements, decide and PROVE what I posted on the other website, and then take this action to court, I’m all for it.

I hope that when Bob is on the stand in court, he lies about his comments here.  Then they can charge him with perjury too.  And I thought Bob was proud of his posts and comments.  Now he's not?  What a weasel.

"Like I said, I can prove what I have stated as fact."

Lie.

"I am entitled to my opinion of a public official that is doing what I consider inferior work."

You claim he's a criminal, which is libel without proof.

"I can’t be held responsible for what someone else posts using my name."

So are you saying that all of the posts here with your name are not yours?

"Columbuzz.net is a website that allows opinions from everyone. I’m not responsible for what others say."

Lie.  Columbuzz does not allow opinions from everyone.

"If the Barkes’ and the Ferrenburgs wish to further this legal action, I say go for it."

I hope they do.

"The circus that would follow would be a welcome bunch of entertainment for the good folks of this area. It might also be a good way to let the people of Columbus Township finally see what I have been telling them for the past year or so."

No, it's a good way to let the people of Columbus Township see how delusional you are.

"In the meantime, you should continue to monitor Columbuzz.net because I don’t intend to change how I do ANYTHING."

Good.  That just gives the lawyers more material to work with.  If Bob is sued, I predict that he will use columbuzz to beg for donations to his defense fund.  I'm sure the bots will contribute a few bucks.

Possible Libel from Bob Freeman

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5785

"Fred Barkes can walk right out the front door with bags of our tax money and do whatever he likes and everyone refuses to see what he's doing."

"During the campaign, I brought up the issue of Fred Barkes, our Columbus Township Trustee, using $225,000 of money from the Assistance Fund, which every resident in the township pays, to buy a maintenance building for the township fire department.  Fred knows that is not only against the rules, but it is against the law and could be considered a felony."

"He (Fred Barkes) and some of his staff should be removed from office and charged in a criminal court for crimes they know they are committing."

"We also know that that office breaks the law regularly. And we intend to prove it and file complaints with the state officials."

"Fred Barkes has robbed us for 8 years. Now he gets to rob us for 4 more."

"It is illegal for him to manipulate the funds the way he does. Just because he hasn't been convicted or just because the SBOA doesn't have the balls to crack him on it, it doesn't mean he isn't breaking the law."

"Your dad didn't resign as treasurer of the fire department over missing money?"

"You twist what Barkes does illegally to look like it's legal."

"Unfairness in their distribution of relief is illegal. Manipulating the funds and the tax money as they do is illegal."

"Like Billy the Kid! Biggest thief of taxpayer money in the county."

"Fred Barkes is a f***ing thief"

Jeremy the Media Mogul

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5776

Jeremy wrote on columbuzz: "Now, granted it should have been done already but a little motivation is always needed for people to do anything. While we are looked at as competitor to the local paper;"

I literally laughed out loud when I read this.  Jeremy, get a grip.  You are NOT looked at as a competitor to the local paper, at least not by those of us with functioning brains.  Delusional.

"instead of working together they now ALL of a sudden have the idea of doing a story on potholes. I would reckon to bet we were the reason for the article, but likely it will be dismissed as another fluke and it has been in the works for some time."

Laughing again.  Like they would really want to work with columbuzz.  Why would they want to destroy their credibility?  And I'm positive that you were NOT the reason for the article.  Bob and his bots desperately need to join the real world.  Bob will probably blame Fred and Rodney for all of the potholes in the county.

Broken Record Bob

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"I hadn't heard that but it doesn't surprise me. They do whatever they like.  When I brought it up during the campaign, I was 'blowing it out of proportion like everything else,' according to Fire Chief Rodney Ferrenburg.  In my opinion, Columbus Township leadership, and the fire department leadership are nothing more than a bunch of liars and scammers who will do whatever they can to get whatever they want done."

Your opinion means nothing Bob since you are a proven liar and scammer.  You have ZERO credibility.

"And they have the majority of people in the township buffaloed.  And the majority was blind enough to vote them in again.  So we get what they voted for."

Bob is calling the voters a bunch of idiots again.  And he wonders why he can't win an election.

"One day soon, everyone will learn what a crook we have as our trustee."

Yawn.  How long have we heard this now?

"I went to the auditors office the other day and requested the township financial report. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow. Then I'll be able to show you some more of his deliberate misleading nonsense and his incompetence."

Since you have shown your deliberate misleading nonsense and incompetence over and over again, are you sure you will even understand the report Bob?

"The mayor can't fart without people complaining about the color of the air, but Fred Barkes can walk right out the front door with bags of our tax money and do whatever he likes and everyone refuses to see what he's doing."

Bob is trying to defend his selective "whistle blowing" by trying to portray the mayor as a victim.  And please provide real evidence of Fred Barkes stealing money from the taxpayers.  Only Bobobots believe you Bob.

"So now we will keep digging, and exposing, until he is out of office and hopefully in jail."

We're all still waiting for you to cite the law Fred Barkes has broken.

"And will I say 'I told you so?' You can count on it!"

That will never happen Bob, except in your delusional world.

Busted!

http://columbus1.ath.cx/index.php?news=5769

And of course Jeremy claims he did nothing wrong, just like Bob does with his odometer tampering device.  He wrote:

"We were sent a notice to stop showing Channel 8's closings... we took it down as a curtiosy. Since we were'nt hosting the content we didn't violate any laws"

Curtiosy?  Were'nt?  Jeremy, since you're illiterate, you really should use a spell checker.

Bob Freeman: Is he a Felon, Incompetent, or does he just think we're Stupid?

Bob Freeman wrote on columbuzz:
"He hasn't passed a SBOA audit without issues since he has been in office."

Bob, you really need to stop lying.

"Fred Barkes is either too stupid to follow those rules or he thinks he doesn't need to follow those rules."

Writes the man who is either too stupid to follow federal odometer tampering laws or thinks he's exempt from those laws.

"It's time that we file formal complaints with the state and maybe even with the local prosecutor. Enough is enough!"

Yes Bob, I agree.  You should turn yourself in immediately.

"Yes, I lost the election. This has nothing to do with the election."

In my opinion, yet another lie from Bob.

Phil Swaim wrote on columbuzz:
"The fact Bob is not giving up on reporting these issues shows that he really does not care about the election, just about doing the right thing, at least I hope."

Yeah, right.  Bob doing the right thing?  Now that would be a miracle.  Phil, get a grip.

Lucy wrote on columbuzz:
"If this was your area, wouldn't you want the truths uncoverd???. ...I think there's lots to be uncovered....you worried about something being discovered???"

Spoken like a true Bobobot. Bob never lies, blah, blah, blah.

Candidates Almost Strike Out

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"Question from Curious: Does this mean that you are supporting her as a candidate? I am wondering because i have seen several times where she is mentioned here.

Answer by Bob Freeman
It doesn't mean that I support her, nor does it mean that I don't support her, if you're talking to me."

Like anyone cares who Bob supports.  Although the candidates might, since support from Bob would be the kiss of death for their campaign.

"For the past 16 years, we have had a GREAT Mayor, in my opinion. Someone is going to have some big boots to fill to match the quality of leadership that we have grown accustomed to."

And this is exactly why Bob will never investigate the mayor.  He only "investigates" people he doesn't like.

"The main point of Columbuzz is to bring out information that some don't want us to bring out."

Substitute "lies, rumors, and uninformed opinion" for "information" and I would agree.

"Information that we feel people need to know because we, the citizens of Bartholomew County are the people who actually run this county.  We elect people to do the job, but they work for us. They need to know what's going on so they can make their decisions, and we need to know so we can make our decisions on election day."

And the people have definitely spoken on election day.  They don't want you in public office, Bob.

"Kristen Brown has made it clear that she is for complete transparency, what Columbuzz was designed for."

Columbuzz, complete transparency?!?  You've got to be kidding.

"I consider Nancy Ann Brown to be a friend. She has been there supporting me since I dove into local politics nine years ago."

Strike one for Nancy Ann Brown!

"In my first election, she and Martha Myers were my opponents. And they both encouraged and advised me."

Strike two for Nancy Ann Brown!

"Priscilla Scalf was a pain in my butt over the homeless situation a few years ago, and I was a bigger pain in hers."

Bob, you're a huge pain in everyone's butt, but I'm sure you like it that way.

"Since then, we have become friends"

 Strike one for Priscilla Scalf!

"and she even supported my last campaign."

Strike two for Priscilla Scalf!

"I see good in all four candidates. I see no bad in any of them."

Give it time Bob.  I'm sure you'll invent some reasons to crucify at least one of them before the election.

"So, you tell me, who do I support?"

Nobody cares, except to know who to not vote for.

Bob the Delusional

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"We report what we know about.  I've simply not seen evidence of the wrongdoing on the trips you're speaking of.  I've heard a few rumors, but nothing worth writing about."

Rumors are all you need to investigate Republicans.  Have you investigated the trips like you've investigated Fred Barkes?  I would guess the answer to that is no.

"Someone else said something similar to what you're saying just last week.  It seems to me that a few years ago the Mayor had to pay back some expenses, but that was all over the Republic and was a bit before I really got started on Columbuzz."

No excuses Bob.  You could still "investigate", but you choose not to.  And even if you did, I'm sure you would ignore any proof of wrongdoing.

"Show me some proof of what you're talking about and we'll post it. BUt I need verifiable prrof."

Hypocrite.  I need proof for Democrats, but rumors are fine for Republicans.

"We are about getting the truth out. If someone is doing wrong, we need to know it. It doesn't matter which political party they belong to. I think one reason it seems one sided, party wise, is that there are so many more Republicans in office than there are Democrats."

Bob, you actually think you're an unbiased "whistle blower"?  Delusional.

Someone Tell Bob the Election is Over

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"During the campaign, I brought up the issue of Fred Barkes, our Columbus Township Trustee, using $225,000 of money from the Assistance Fund, which every resident in the township pays, to buy a maintenance building for the township fire department.  Fred knows that is not only against the rules, but it is against the law and could be considered a felony.  Fred told me that himself, early in the campaign."

Bob, you've been "looking into this" for the past six months and you still can't cite the specific law that was broken.  Conversely, I have cited the specific law that you broke and it is, without a doubt, a felony.

"But nobody cared.  Nobody listened."

Nobody believed you.  Most people think you're a raving lunatic.

"On Election Day, "vote re-pub-li-can, vote re-pub-li-can, vote re-pub-li-can"
"We know he's a crooked bastard, but vote re-pub-li-can, vote re-pub-li-can, vote re-pub-li-can" baa baa baa baa baaaaaaaaaa"

You are wrong AGAIN.  They know he's NOT a crooked bastard and that you're a chronic liar.

"So he got away with what is probably a felony."

We all know that you got away with what is definitely a felony.

"People who live in the township, and in the city of Columbus, pay for Columbus CITY fire protection and don't pay for township fire protection.  Since the trustee used assistance money, $225,000 worth, to buy the maintenance building for the fire department, that means people in the city, who helped pay for assistance, got to help pay for fire protection in the part of the township they don't live it.  That's sneaky, wrong, and, most likely, illegal."

Just because you disagree with how the money was spent does not make it sneaky, wrong, or illegal.

"So what are we going to do about it?  I think the State Board of Accounts needs to take a closer look at it."

They already did that during the audit.

"And if it is a felony, maybe our prosecutor should look at it as well."

Maybe the prosecutor should look more closely at odometer fraud.

Bob's Still Working On It

Bob wrote on columbuzz:

"More incompetence?"

I believe that he's referring to himself and columbuzz here.

"More sneaky tricks to hide financial activity?"

Is he referring to profits from selling odometer tampering devices on the Internet?

"Stay tuned.
More to come..... "

Yawn.  I guess he's still working on it.  How long has it been now?  6 months?

Investigator Freeman

Bob wrote: "Things aren't always as they appear.  To someone who dropped me a note.  Rest assured, I have NOT stopped investigating.  I am working on a couple of things.  My goal is that he be in jail, and/or he resigns, before his term is over."

Thank God Bob, the "expert" investigator, is still on the job!  I guess he's "still looking into it".  Bob, you seriously need to get a life and a new hobby.  Private investigation is just not your thing.  You just prove your incompetence over and over again.

Dude's Poll

Since columbuzz likes to post polls with only all pro-Bob choices, I thought it would be fun to create my own poll:

Bob Lets The People Decide

Bob wrote on columbuzz:
"I am going to post the facts and let people decide."

We all know that Bob can't just post facts without trying to pass off his opinions as facts.

"It appears that our Columbus Township Trustee is either playing games with the money, stealing the money, or he and his staff are simply too incompetent to keep track of the funds entrusted to them."

Um, Bob, these statements aren't facts.  They're your opinion.  I know it's hard for you to tell the difference, so that's why I'm here to help.

"The State Board Of Accounts did a study recently of how the office handles the money they use to perform the job. According to this report, they failed miserably!"

I don't remember seeing "failed miserably" in the report.  Your opinion again, Bob, not facts.

Bob is Wrong, Again

Bob wrote on Columbuzz:
"Lets look at an October 4th article about what Sandra Barkes has been accused of doing. Some are doubting the facts of this issue. I want to let everyone see what really went down for this article. Some want proof yet they refuse to accept that proof. Eyewitness accounts are pretty good proof usually."

Bob is incorrect, again.  Eyewitness accounts are not "pretty good proof usually".  Here's a real article on the subject:

http://agora.stanford.edu/sjls/Issue%20One/fisher&tversky.htm

"So what is an "original memory?" The process of interpretation occurs at the very formation of memory—thus introducing distortion from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers. Rarely do we tell a story or recount events without a purpose. Every act of telling and retelling is tailored to a particular listener; we would not expect someone to listen to every detail of our morning commute, so we edit out extraneous material. The act of telling a story adds another layer of distortion, which in turn affects the underlying memory of the event. This is why a fish story, which grows with each retelling, can eventually lead the teller to believe it."

"Memory is affected by retelling, and we rarely tell a story in a neutral fashion. By tailoring our stories to our listeners, our bias distorts the very formation of memory—even without the introduction of misinformation by a third party. The protections of the judicial system against prosecutors and police "assisting" a witness’ memory may not sufficiently ensure the accuracy of those memories. Even though prosecutors refrain from "refreshing" witness A’s memory by showing her witness B’s testimony, the mere act of telling prosecutors what happened may bias and distort the witness’s memory. Eyewitness testimony, then, is innately suspect."

"Bias creeps into memory without our knowledge, without our awareness. While confidence and accuracy are generally correlated, when misleading information is given, witness confidence is often higher for the incorrect information than for the correct information. This leads many to question the competence of the average person to determine credibility issues. Juries are the fact-finders, and credibility issues are to be determined by juries. The issue then arises whether juries are equipped to make these determinations. Expert testimony may not be helpful. Indeed, since the very act of forming a memory creates distortion, how can anyone uncover the "truth" behind a person’s statements? Perhaps it is the terrible truth that in many cases we are simply not capable of determining what happened, yet are duty-bound to so determine."

Deep Thoughts By Bob Freeman

From the Bartholomew County Young Democrats yahoo group:

"I have my opinions and beliefs.  Accuracy and proof isn't requiredIn my mind, my opinions and beliefs are accurate.  If you disagree, that's your right.  And being proven wrong doesn't necessarily change an opinion or a belief."

Dude:  Well that explains a lot.  Even when Bob is proven wrong, he still thinks he's right.

"I believe that I am right.  Tearing it apart technically doesn't prove I'm wrong.  You might think I am but tearing it apart technically doesn't prove I am."

"You know, just because I suck at supporting my positions doesn't mean that I don't have positions on issues."

Dude:  Yes Bob, you definitely suck at supporting your positions.

"My inability to support my position doesn't necessarily lessen the quality of that position."

Dude:  You're unable to support most of your positions.

Bob vs. Bob 12.0

Bob #1:
"I'm not here to piss people off, really."

Bob #2:
"I thrive on ticking people off.  Especially when I am right and they are cocky.  I have a big spoon and I like to stir it up.  I'm actually quite shy too, unless I'm writing."

The Bob #2 quote was from the Bartholomew County Young Democrats yahoo group.

Snitching Powers

When someone blew the whistle on Bob's brother for his pyramid scheme, here is part of Bob's response to him:

"You have snitched on him. You have done your good deed for the day. Let the
popel you snitched to do their job.

Now, I think I saw a 75 year old woman jaywalk on the next street over. Why don't you go have her arrested and thrown in prison?

When you grow up you will realize how idiotic this is. You should use your snitching powers for something more important. Like shoplifters at Walmart. Go check it out. They could use real assholes like you."

Ah, the irony.  Bob is using HIS snitching powers to bust people who park illegally at Walmart.  And he just can't stand it when someone blows the whistle on him or his family.

By the way, you can read the entire email thread here:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/barthcoyoungdems/message/1516

Proof #5 of a Bob Lie

Bob wrote on columbuzz:  "But they (Fred and Rodney) deny everything and won't explain anything."

Bob spin:  FLATOUT TRUTH. NO LIE HERE.

From a previous post on my blog:  "The State Board of Accounts audited the office this year for 2008 & 2009. Every penny, in every FUND (5) was accounted for. The discrepancy was caused by missed transferees (every transfer of money required 4 postings and some were missed). The SBA could not identify them and neither could we. If wrongdoing was identified, I would have been arrested, on the spot."

Sounds like an explanation to me, not just a denial.  Bob lies again.

Something Bob Cannot Spin

I asked Bob to provide an explanation of why he would even attempt to sell a device whose sole purpose was to defraud.  If it were someone else, say a public official (except the mayor, of course), Bob would rant for days on columbuzz about it.  He would probably say something like "This idiot tried to sell a device whose only purpose was to defraud, and yet he's a public official?  He should be removed from office immediately and prosecuted for his shenanigans."

But Bob has no spin for this one.  It's not only illegal, it's immoral.  Bob was once a Boy Scout leader.  Is this something a Boy Scout leader should do?  Is this being trustworthy?

Proof #4 of a Bob Lie

Bob wrote on columbuzz:  '"I stated earlier that I have people in my family with drug issues and I wouldn't comment on a son having a drug issue. No parent can stop that in this day and age."'

Bob spin:  "Couldn’t be any truer. NO LIE HERE."

Direct quote from Bob about the trustee's son:  "And people talk about the report of the dope being in the trustee's house as being so long ago.  I wonder if he has even gone to court yet.  Or served his sentence.  Or stopped making or using meth.  Eighteen months isn't a very long time for some things.  It's a very long time if you're hoping people will forget."

Proof #3 of a Bob Lie

Bob wrote on columbuzz:  "We protect the privacy of those who post here."

Bob spin:  "We do protect the privacy of those who post there. We have exposed NOBODY, even when we tried. NO LIE HERE"

If you try to expose someone, you are not protecting their privacy.  The fact that you're incompetent doesn't matter.  LIE!

Would You Trust This Person?

Would you trust a person that:
  • Promotes pyramid schemes on his website
  • Defends his brother when he was caught running a pyramid scheme
  • Attempts to sell an odometer tampering device whose sole purpose is to defraud
  • Falls for Internet Get Rich Quick schemes, hoaxes, and scams
  • Claims that he doesn't lie, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary
  • Requires all others to be civil to him but he can be as uncivil as he pleases
  • Believes that the moon landings were faked and that national heroes like Neil Armstrong are liars
  • Promotes violence against women
  • Threatens people with violence
  • Thinks that jaywalking is equivalent to fraud

Bob's Untrue Statements

Here is a list of untrue statements from Bob.  Bob and his bots will argue that they're all just his incorrect opinions or mistakes or misunderstandings, but they were presented as facts.

"I don't lie."

"He (Fred Barkes) and some of his staff should be removed from office and charged in a criminal court for crimes they know they are committing."

"We also know that that office breaks the law regularly. And we intend to prove it and file complaints with the state officials."

"I broke no laws with the odometer deal."

"But they (Fred and Rodney) deny everything and won't explain anything."

"Of course, if my opponent loses the election, most of his family and friends are afraid they will lose their jobs and become clients of the Trustees office."

"Everyone will post civally or their posts will be deleted. Disagreeing with what is said here is fine. Attacking people for what they post here is not."

"We don't track IP addresses."

"We protect the privacy of those who post here."

"And I will not leave Barkes alone. He is a crook"

"It's 2 or 3 people that post under anonymous or other phony names to make it look like they have several coming there."

"Someone hacked the site and shut it down."

"Fred Barkes has robbed us for 8 years. Now he gets to rob us for 4 more."

"They are actually a bunch of Fred Barkes fans that aren't real bright and they are still bitter that I brought out so much truth about Fred and his gang during the election."

"Apparently they are on his payroll somehow too."

"I really hate that people found out that I had anything to do with the cross. That was never my intention."

"I don't care who you (Mercman) are."

"I don't care who you (Dude) are."

"Since December 1, I have made NO post here without using my real name."

"You (Dude) are welcome to post there (columbuzz). Everyone is."

"Because the same IP addresses have shown up for posts that have been here and there."

"The ads were free.  Now we have enough traffic that we can charge for them."

"Some people on a blog that hardly nobody reads"

"The same group of idiots that have threatened my wife and dog, and threatened bodily harm to one of our posters, Lucy, in the past, are accusing me of inciting violence."

"And no, I don't condone violence against a lady."

"I really do try to be fair, even though it doesn't always appear that I do."

"E, it turns out, Herman was excited to see someone so far from Columbus posting."

"I stated earlier that I have people in my family with drug issues and I wouldn't comment on a son having a drug issue. No parent can stop that in this day and age."

"Because it was a part of an entire conversation I was deleting because of the uncivil nature of the conversation."

"It is illegal for him to manipulate the funds the way he does. Just because he hasn't been convicted or just because the SBOA doesn't have the balls to crack him on it, it doesn't mean he isn't breaking the law."

"He has reportedly threatened to beat my ass because I exposed what he and his boyfriend Fred have been doing with our tax money."

"And as far as lawsuits, we try to be as accurate as possible. What I post is almost always true."

"When my actions get in the way of my goals, it's time to change."

"I am as guilty of that mistreatment by using 'idiot' as I would have been by using 'retard.' So I will stop."

"I will do better."

"I just won't repeat them. Nor will I use them again."

"I think we should let our elected officials do what we elected them to do."

"If I think someone did something stupid, I will say so without adding a name to the conversation."
