Bob is taking credit for something he had nothing to do with. Here's what really happened with the Columbus Township Trustee's annual financial report that was published in The Republic on Feb. 4 from the Trustee himself:
"Bob really tries to seize a moment. Even before his posting, the Republic sent me an e-mail informing of the difference in the size of the 2010 file vs. 2009. I recreated the 2010 file, sent it to the Republic and was awaiting the reprint when Bob made his posting. The bottom line is that (he) can’t take credit for any of it."

Lets make sure this is understood, Bob just reported that Fred sent an incomplete file to THE REPUBLIC! Not to the SBOA. The Republic informed him there was an error in transmission and he resent it. Good Work Bob!!!!! I hope someone is there to tell you the next time an electronic file has to be re-sent.

I would like that to be submitted into court as evidence that Bob Freeman makes stuff up and photoshops his photos to make it look like what he thinks the story should be.
yeah, if that really is Bob who posted, I ask you how are you so sure just to be fair, then that is enough to damn him politically, journalistically, and legally.

There are many reasons I know it was Bob. Here are a few:
1. He admitted to them on columbuzz.
2. He wrote in the next comment: "Dude asked me today if I own a .357.". Only Bob would know what I asked him in a personal email.
3. It sounds like him.

I have just sent a request to Mr. Bob Freeman to not post, copy, or in anyway publish materials originating from the Bartholomew County Watchman on his site anymore.
I wish to wash my hands of that mess of a site.
I did this for reasons which have been expounded upon here and because of certain cease and desist orders that have been sent to the proprietor of Columbuzz. I don't wish to be seen as associated with it, even though I never was.
As some have pointed out, perception is reality. Though I philosophically disagree and take great exception to logical fallacies, I also do not want to alienate audience members who would otherwise view my material except that it happened to be aggregated on Columbuzz.
I wash my hands of this madness. Hope everyone enjoys my site now that it is not seen as being tainted by Freeman, who has never been a part of my site nor I his.

Phil, I am not suggesting that you and I are going for coffee anytime soon or that we will, necessarily, agree on everything political. My comment is that you have shown tremendous courage to distance yourself from Bob, he poisons any possibility of dialog and discussion because of his personal insulting attacks which are usually void of fact.
I must say that while I question your politics, I do not question your passion or integrity as it pertains to what you believe. Some of what you say I actually agree with but rather than sing kumbayah lets just focus on agreeing to not be disagreeable. Fair?
Again, I loathe Bob Freeman. I probably made as much an effort to get him to join genuine conversation on the issues and to make amends as anyone. I failed because he lacks logic and sincerity. Anyway, enough of Bob for the moment. My opinion of you stands as stated, I still distrust your politics but I am listening. I hope you will do the same.

I would not say it is courage to get away from Bob. It would take more courage to stay where I was knowing the things I know now. Again dude, thanks for your investigative reporting.
I see now that you and others just really have strong anger towards Bob Freeman. I'm truly sorry if anyone ever though he and I were in it together. That's definitely not what was going on. I hope this move will support that.

Hey, Bob just put up the quotes the attourney gave him. There are quotes that they submit as libelous that are not his, but are on his site.
I believe this is where I TOLD YOU SO! I tried to be nice and give a friendly warning to him and say that he is responsible for EVERYTHING on his site. Regardless of if it was someone else. If he allows it, he has published it. Now, they could come after Running Bare and the other guy. All the court has to do is ask for their IP and track them down and get them into the suit as well, but I believe they are lodging this suit against Bob, the creator of the site, rather than the contributors or commentors.
We need to all get together and have beers or cokes and just watch this stuff unfurl in court. Again, I tried to tell him to cool it that he's gonna let his big mouth get him in trouble. I guess I try to be too nice, but it was only fair to warn him.

Bob doesn't listen to anybody. He does want he wants, even if it might send him to jail someday.
Communicating with Bob is difficult at best. It's almost like being in a parallel universe. Bob lacks the cognitive ability to understand what he is doing. He is so convinced that he is right and everyone with an opposing viewpoint is wrong, even when predicated under Indiana law, he makes his ability to use logic and reason non-existent.
I doubt that the letter from the attorney is a veiled threat. In my experience, lawyers do not send threats unless they intend to follow up with legal action. Bob is on thin ice and the ice is cracking. It may seem subjective as to whether he said this or he said that but in the digital age that we live in, Bob Freeman is liable in more than one aspect.
Asking questions is what journalists do. Sharing opinions is what commentators do. Sharing rumor and innuendo as fact is what fools do. Everyone can draw their own conclusion but the court will only concern itself with Indiana law.
Bob needs to recognize that proving himself liable is much different than proving innocence in a criminal matter. All the plaintiffs have to do is prove, based upon the preponderance of the evidence, that Bob libeled them was malicious in his intent and offer slanderous comments even when posed as inane questions.
It has been said that only a fool has himself as his own counsel. I have recommended before and suggest again, in the strongest terms, that Bob refrain from baiting the plaintiffs or counsel for the plaintiffs on the internet or otherwise.
Reading what I have read today is a fascinating study is someone the clearly "does not get it." I have a feeling an injunction against Columbuzz could be coming next week.
