Don't forget Bob saying that Mercman (or his actions) closed down several of the other boards. I was around for many of the closings and not once do I remember Merc being cited as the reason. Even if he could argue that Merc's actions made people not visit them and lack of interest closed them down, there is no proof. I don't remember anyone saying there that they didn't visit because of Merc. I seem to remember Shaggy and whathisname leaving separately because they didn't like being called out, but I don't know that Merc was even doing that. I don't recall him doing it.
Once again, just because Bob didn't like some of the boards and left because he couldn't control them and perhaps a couple of his buddies did, he ends up lumping everyone in the same category. Shaggy and whathisname also both left considerable time before the closing of many of them I believe.
I wouldn't go as far as saying Bob was the reason any site ceased operation, but Bob was a much greater factor than I ever was in some of those decisions.
The Columbus Krap site's ending had nothing to do with either one of us.

As far as the definition of the term lie, it looks like my definition (although #3) is still true. So, even though not the primary one, it still shows that a lie can be unintentional.

Imagine Dude posts a story here that says someone here reported you are a child molester. Is he lying? Probably not, but should he post it not knowing if what was reported is true or not? How would you feel if he posted it was reported (which you say is not a lie)? Would you feel good? Would you appreciate his posting it?
You had gotten better at trying to investigate the other side more before posting and kudos for that. I hope you continue. You still sort of gave away that story of the hit and run that was a mistaken identity before you substantiated it was her, but maybe that was due to your trying to discuss it here without getting into it. The better thing to have done though is to have asked her before even planting any seeds of doubt on Columbuzz like you did. (Saying she might be guilty of something, you thought she was, but were going to wait until you heard her side). Still it is progress.
As far as whether you lie or not in all the above. I am a bit sorry I spent the time I did. I am not sure the time I invested is worth any type of benefit that might come of it. Nonetheless, I hope you see how saying things about people that aren't true, opinions stated as facts, and thinking saying "it has been reported" gives you the right to say what you want and keeps these things from being harmful.
That is funny, Dude. It shows that he shoots off his mouth before he has the facts or knowledge. It is also funny how his changing the names to cuss shows that he plans to cuss. If he is planning on cussing and name-calling, then he could stop. Of course we know who is doing it and anyone who reads one comment from him, a response as him under anonymous and then another as him would like be able to easily assume they are his words.
