This guy continues to amaze me. I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but I am baffled at how little Bob actually knows and his righteous indignation.
Let me first say that this was a tragic accident and I feel bad for the boy's family and everyone else involved.
I have known the man who risked his own life and saved 2 of the 3 boys that night for more than 20 years and that is how I KNOW the details of what actually happened.
And as usual, Bob's facts are 100% wrong:

After 2 different neighbors called 911, there were plenty of emergency personnel on scene within 10 minutes.
"And the boy held onto the boat for a bit. Some have been under frigid water for an hour and have been resuscitated."
The boy did not ever hold on to the boat. All 3 boys were about 12 feet away and a rope was used to pull them from the ice into the boat. The boy that died was simply too cold and weak and could not hold onto the rope after being in the water for a few minutes.
"For two hours, people had to wait for someone to come and get a boy out of a frozen lake. Two hours."
No one was waiting on anything - certainly not 2 hours.
"And if the results were the same, it wouldn't be because people had to stand around doing nothing because we didn't prepare properly."
Tell that to the man that saved 2 of the 3 boys and the emergency personnel who were onsite. Bob, you are a joke and wouldn't risk your life for anyone - plus what are you pushing, about 400lbs?
"Pure negligence is all it is. And you want to attack me. A 16 year old boy is dead now because of negligence."
This was an accident and although this is probably not going to be popular, the only people who were negligent were the boy and the grandmother.
Unless there would have happened to be trained ice rescue personnel living next door (with gear) on the lake, nothing else could have been done. And again, if not for the hero and local emergency services, there would be 3 dead. The entire rescue event was over in about 15 minutes.
Bob, you really are a disgusting moron and a world class idiot. Not only are you ignorant and uninformed, but you are stupid and will say absolutely anything without regard for anyone else, even a dead 16 year old boy.
Every time you open your mouth, you provide further evidence of why you will never be in any position of authority and will never be respected.

I was there when it happened. This Bob Freeman character doesn't know anything about what happened that night.

You people have no right to call yourselves Christians!! Have you read a bible? Do you think God looks at someones weight? The boys step mom was happy about the cross being put up in his memory. Dorthy Hall you sound like a bitter stuck up women!! You don't own the whole neighborhood and he wasn't there to snoop around he was putting up a cross in a boys memory. What does his religion or lack or have to do with him putting a cross up in the boys memory.

He has absolutely no business involving himself with this boy's death and is attempting to exploit the situation by inserting himself where he does not belong.
Dorthy is not the only person on the lake that thinks Bob is an idiot and should shut up and stay away.
Bob's weight is relevant here because he claims he would like to be trained in ice water rescue and implied (several times) that if he were there that night, he would have saved this boy.
His religion is also relevant because he loves to make fun of Christians and churches and even has a bit of a cult-like following on his website. But perhaps you already know this since any rational person understands that Bob only ever does anything for himself.
That "memorial" that he placed is offensive on every level. Although Bob is incapable of feeling shame, you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing him to fool you and take advantage of a tragic death.
So Anonymous, you think it's fine for Bob, as a proud atheist/agnostic to plant a Christian cross for a boy that he didn't know after accusing a hero and multiple emergency personnel of negligence.

No Dorothy, I didn't copy any statement from here. Actually I deleted two comments before posting that one.
I deleted that comment from 'lake' and another from 'Joe' saying he would remove the cross if I placed it.
Then, I mentioned the threat and that comment popped up again, so I allowed it to show what sort of people we have to deal with.
All three comments came from the same IP address.
I hope whoever does try to take the cross gets caught and gets the crap beat out of them.
And I will replace the stolen cross with another one planted in concrete if he does.

When using words on the Internet that are beyond one's vocabulary or comprehension, one should check the spelling, meaning, and usage. It's very easy to do so.
I just wonder if Bob Freeman tread on private property in the act of placing the cross that someone else made. And did he place it on private property?
If he was on private property at any time while doing this, did he have permission from the property owner?
Bob's history leads one to believe that he is negligent, ignorant, and uncaring, when it comes to legalities regarding trespassing.
Regardless of reason, or intention, the law applies.
